Concorde Career Colleges, Inc. signed a 15-year lease for 30,350 square feet at Lloyd Plaza, bringing the office complex’s occupancy to 100 percent. Mark Friel associate vice president of Norris, Beggs & Simpson, represented the landlord, 1201 Lloyd, LLC. Concorde was represented by LA-based Jeff Woolf and local Tom Usher, both of Cushman & Wakefield.
Founded in 1968, Concorde Career Colleges, Inc. owns and operates proprietary post-secondary institutions that offer career vocational training programs in healthcare. The company provides training programs in California, Colorado, Florida, Missouri, Oregon and Tennessee. Known as Concorde Career Institute, the current Portland campus at 1827 NE 44th offers training to potential medical assistants, dental assistants and insurance coding and billing specialists. Programs range from five to eighteen months, with an emphasis placed on hands-on clinical and laboratory experience.
Due to the pivotal role clinical experience plays in the school’s education, the Concorde was limited to properties with appropriate zoning permits. Concorde also desired a campus-like setting that offered abundant parking and was in close proximity to downtown.
