David E. Mazzocco has sold 6654 NE 47th, a 12 acre industrial property with 3 building totaling 75,000sf in Portland, Oregon to Halton Co., a full service Caterpillar equipment dealer. Jennifer Medak, John Medak and Ken Boyko of NAI Norris, Beggs & Simpson represented the seller. Don Ossey of Capacity Commercial represented the buyer.
Halton Co., also know as Halton Tractor, has been associated with Caterpillar products since 1940. In 1956, the company relocated to Portland, Oregon and in 1959, Halton moved into its present location on Columbia Blvd. and becoming the first equipment dealer on what is now known as “machinery row.” Over those 65 years, they have sold, serviced, rented and leased all types of heavy and compact equipment, engines and electric power. Halton Co. currently has branches in Salem, Wilsonville, the Dalles and Longview.
Halton Co.’s expansion reflects the growing vigor of the industrial market in the Portland Metropolitan Area. Several companies have begun plans for expansion of their current locations or have begun scouting out larger facilities to accommodate production growth. Increased activity has been seen in third-party logistic companies who are reaping the benefits of recovery growth in the private sector which is heightening demand for goods, and the still cautious manufacturers who are outsourcing extra production until production numbers indicate that this growth isn’t a spike. Halton Co.’s move into a larger facility indicates their comfort and belief that demand will remain strong in the respective industries they supply to, including construction, farming, wood products, transportation and high tech.
